A gestural portrait bust is built from dense, rapid hatching in markers and colored pencils across several torn and overlapping sheets of paper pinned to a white ground. The face coalesces at center from interlocking strokes of yellow, violet, red, green, and black, the velocity of the mark-making overwhelming detail in favor of raw chromatic energy.
