A reclining female nude viewed from a slightly elevated frontal angle, rendered in charcoal or conté crayon on cream paper using dense, energetic cross-hatching to carve form out of darkness. The composition is bold and close-cropped, the figure filling the picture plane; highlights are left as bare paper while layered hatching builds deep blacks, giving the work a strong sculptural presence.
