A gestural bust-length portrait of an older male subject seen in left-facing profile, executed in multi-coloured felt-tip markers on white spiral-bound sketchbook paper; rapid, overlapping strokes in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple build the form through energetic layering rather than through careful line. The technique is characteristic of live-session speed-drawing, where the velocity of the marks is itself the expressive content.
