Untitled (December 2017)

A male figure from roughly the waist up, head turned slightly downward and to the right, rendered in charcoal with rapid, overlapping hatched strokes that build tonal volume across the torso, neck, and face. The marks are energetic and non-descriptive in detail, relying on massed shadow and directional shading to construct form from the white of the paper ground.
