A rapid pen-and-ink speed sketch on a spiral-bound sketchbook page, depicting a seated or crouching figure at right with a loosely resolved background scene—possibly an outdoor or street setting—at left. Tone and volume are built entirely through dense directional hatching and cross-hatching laid down in bold, uninhibited strokes characteristic of direct observational drawing under time pressure.
