A nude female figure sits in a relaxed contrapposto pose, her torso and limbs built up in energetic layers of oil pastel and coloured chalk — yellows, oranges, and reds on the body, blue accents trailing behind — set against bold vertical charcoal hatching that frames and grounds her. Loose ink or graphite contour lines run through the chromatic passages, characteristic of a timed life-drawing study executed with speed and gestural confidence.
One of 17 drawings from this night. The 4 on sale as one unframed set: $211 instead of $240.
