A nude figure crouches low with spine arched and head bowed, both hands pressing toward the ground in a posture of tension or submission. Executed in charcoal on cream paper with rapid, confident mark-making that layers smudged tonal masses against sharp contour lines to convey muscular weight and kinetic energy.
