A rapid pen-and-ink landscape study depicting tall trees—likely birch or aspen—rising above a rocky, broken terrain, rendered almost entirely through dense parallel hatching and cross-hatching strokes. The marks are energetic and directional, using tonal contrast rather than outline to define form, with an open cream ground providing negative space in the sky.
