A close-up figurative sketch in charcoal or graphite shows a person in three-quarter profile gazing upward, with a raised arm and hand resting atop the head, rendered in rapid, energetic hatching strokes. The upper portion of the composition overlaps with a looser gestural study of the same arm and hand, giving the sheet a multi-pass, exploratory quality.
