Untitled (June 2017)

A bust-length study of a male figure rendered in charcoal and ink on white paper, with a tightly observed face contrasting against loosely gestural, almost abstract marks describing the torso and shoulders. The upper face is carefully modeled with tonal shading while the body dissolves into rapid, energetic hatching and scribbled lines.
