A gestural charcoal or soft-graphite sketch of a single figure hunched forward in a seated pose, head bowed, arms gathered inward — a posture of deep introspection or exhaustion. Form is built through rapid, overlapping mark-making and broad hatched strokes on white sketchbook paper, with no linear outline, relying entirely on tonal accumulation to convey weight and volume.
One of 19 drawings from this night. The 13 on sale as one set: $546 instead of $780.
