A gestural charcoal study of a shirtless young man with a goatee, depicted from the waist up with both fists raised in a defensive or fighting stance. The work is built from rapid, energetic marks with tonal smudging to model the face and arms, characteristic of a timed life-drawing or speed-portrait session.
One of 19 drawings from this night. The 13 on sale as one set: $546 instead of $780.
